Our Vision

We built Envisioning with the goal of democratizing transparent information, to companies and employees alike. At Envisioning, we believe that a company can, and should, be measured beyond its financial performance; that factors like environmental sustainability, treatment of workers, and social impact are just as – if not more – important than monetary success.

To ignite this vision, our tool leverages an existing framework – Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria – to measure a company’s overall performance. ESG scores are relevant to both companies and employees for a multitude of reasons. For corporations, a higher ESG score and more sustainable proposition can result in boosted customer loyalty, and for future employees, being able to consider the quality of companies’ benefits and work-life balance would provide immense insight in the job search process.

After conducting exploratory data analysis on our dataset, our results showed that employees mainly prioritized social aspects of a company (over environmental and governance factors) throughout the job search process. Since our tool aims to provide useful information to companies and employees, we chose to place a greater emphasis on the social aspects of a company when calculating its score – the ‘S’ aspect of ‘ESG’.
